Playing Catch Up
Shocking! I am embarrassed and anxious to be returning to my website blog. This is my diary, my journey, my wisdom-keeper, my connection, and so much more. It certainly isn’t that nothing has been happening, because ‘sure-nuff’ it’s been busy. I’m here now, so an update is required.
I do understand why everything says May 23 though. It was the new beginning of my website and I uploaded several blog posts from previous website. Even still, it’s been a while.
After moving from Jacksonville to Ocala in March of 2022, we hit the ground running. Between Frank having a stroke and my ongoing back pain and tendinitis in my feet, it seems the running has turned into a crawl, but still moving.
It works out best for me to host and facilitate my women’s circles here at my house, so I don’t have to drag things anywhere.
I’ve been busy creating Chat & Chew for a year of women’s discussions; then The Women’s Discussion Salon for another 2 years, and now, I’m reducing the number of women and setting sacred space for a smaller and intimate group for the Women’s Reflective Writing Series. I’m very excited about this new chapter and focusing on my first love of writing. We will meet monthly til we run out of words! Everything is themed around the natural rhythms and seasons of the year.
In addition, I’ll be doing Who Wants 2 Drum programs off and on during the year. Four months at a time, or sometimes every other week. It has been great to get back to drumming. Also, very surprising there were many other women ‘of a certain age’ that also wanted to learn more about this meditative way of returning to the heartbeat. It’s been a real treat.
We’ve been very busy meeting new people, delighting in our new neighbors, and enjoy the ongoing activities available at our 55+ community called On Top of the World - and we feel like we are.
Of course, the Motorhome has been our constant companion taking us far and near at least monthly. We just returned from Maine …. and down the East Coast and over to West Point Academy for Frank’s birthday present. It was a long trip as we get older, so IF we keep the motorhome, we will stick closer to the Florida, Georgia coasts, I’m pretty sure.
Well, I hope this is caught up enough to carry on from here. I want to get this posted and get back in the saddle, so they say here in Horse Country Ocala, Florida.
